What should I consider before choosing a dedicated server or a virtual dedicated server?
If your website traffic is heavy and rapid response time is critical, a dedicated server will give you the additional power to keep your site running quickly even with hundreds of simultaneous visitors. You may also provide service to multiple web hosting customers on a dedicated machine.
We also recommend one of our Dedicated Server Plans for large and dynamic SQL databases, or streaming media servers requiring large amounts of bandwidth.
- Mail Tips: Any single domain that has over 100 users or over 100 email addresses should run on a dedicated machine.
- Due to resource needs SQL Workgroup, Standard and Enterprise editions should be run on a dedicated server
- Virtual Dedicated Plans should never run a web server, mail server and SQL server all at the same time. Plan B can handle moderate web and mail loads simultaneously.
